Alum and salt mix (3 kg) for a tanning bath of approx. 7 litres. This is sufficient for tanning small mammal skins such as moles, hares, martens, etc. The tanning bath can be used several times.
Dissolve the mixture in lukewarm water. A saturated solution will be created, so salt will remain visible. Let the water cool down before putting the skin in the tanning bath.
