Lip-tucker, ideally shaped stainless spatula with a handle that lies well in the hand for all work in the lip area.
Lip-tuckers are specially shaped tools with a handle that fits well in the hand to easily and without damage press the lip skin of a mammal into the clay or (PU) mould to secure the lips of the specimen. Very solidly made from one piece of metal.
With PU-moulds, a narrow slit is cut into the lip area, into which the thinly sliced skin of the inner lips is inserted. If the opening directly in the transition area between the two lips is kept very narrow (but sufficiently deep cut!), you get beautifully closed and very natural-looking lips. With this specially designed spatula, you can push the skin into the slit easily and precisely.
The narrow version is intended for specimens up to the size of a fox, the larger version is intended for larger mammals such as roe deer, antelope, etc.
