Skinning and purifying sawdust
Skinning and purifying sawdust to absorb body fluids during the skinning process and to get a better grip on oily skins. Lard is necessary to dry the feathers or fur and make them 'fluffy'.
Fine sawdust (powdery) is mainly meant for during the skinning of small birds and mammals, the sawdust with the medium chips (medium: 0.5 - 1 mm) is meant for larger animals and in pure drums.
