Supralan 67, washing and degreasing agent for bird skins and mammalian skins and for use in bone preparations.
Supralan UF, washing and degreasing agent for bird skins and mammalian skins and for use in bone preparations, additive to Supralan UF.
Supralanes are highly active detergents with an excellent degreasing effect. They are solvent-free, biodegradable and can be washed out cold without problems. Supralan UF is non-ionic.
Washing and degreasing coats of mammals, birds, etc:
Add 0.5 - 3.0 grams of Supralan UF per litre of water to the washing water. Supralan UF can also be added to the soaking and acid bath.
Degreasing of bones:
2 - 3 grams of Supralan UF per litre of water. Supralan UF emulsifies almost all animal fats on the surface and is suitable as an additive in all baths for dissolving blood to bleaching. A maximum of 5 - 10 grams per litre of hydrogen peroxide (35%) is added to the bleaching bath.
The treatment is complete after about 2 - 4 days. Soak the bones thoroughly before drying. The activity of the baths can be increased by heat (e.g. heating cabinet).
Combination of Supralan 67 with Supralan UF:
Supralan 67 in combination with Supralan UF leads to an even greater degreasing effect. Use the same quantity of Supralan 67 in addition to Supralan UF.
The application of Novaltan and Tanicor and associated tanning recipes are described in detail in our reader ‘Skin preservation’ (Dutch-language) and explained practically during the Bos and Fauna skin preservation workshop. Experimenting with chemicals is dangerous, know what you are doing!
